Robert Kopitsch is the Founder and Secretary General of Blockchain for Europe (since 2018). Until the end of 2024, Mr. Kopitsch was APCO’s Financial Services, FinTech and Blockchain lead for EMEA. In parallel, in 2022, he also advised the DeFi Education Fund about entering the European market as well as on EU regulatory affairs. Prior to joining APCO in 2015, Mr. Kopitsch worked for the Austrian Ministry of Finance and the Wirtschaftsrat Deutschland in Vienna, before joining the office of MEP Othmar Karas in the European Parliament. In 2014, he transitioned to the EU liaison office of Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) in Brussels, where he dealt with issues around the implementation and outcomes of financial regulation and EU foreign policy. Originally from Vienna, Mr. Kopitsch holds a master’s degree in European politics and policies from the KU Leuven. He also holds two master’s degrees in public communication and contemporary history from the University of Vienna.
