Oliver Sigrist is an expert in tokenisation, financial market innovation and central banking. He currently serves as an Adviser to the Swiss Centre of the BIS Innovation Hub, with a focus on Project Agorá. Until early 2025, he led the Helvetia pilot, where the Swiss National Bank (SNB) issues tokenised central bank money on a regulated distributed ledger technology platform. From 2020 to 2023, he held key positions in various projects involving tokenised central bank money in the Innovation Hub, including Helvetia, Jura, and Mariana. In the early stage of his career, he was a macroeconomist in the SNB’s Economics Department. Oliver holds a PhD in economics from the University of Basel.
