Eyal Hertzog is a serial entrepreneur and a thought leader in the blockchain space. He is the co-founder and Chief Product Architect of Bancor, the inventor of liquidity pools and a pioneer in decentralized finance (DeFi). Bancor is a blockchain protocol that enables automated, decentralized exchange and on-chain liquidity. In 2011, after discovering Bitcoin, he founded AppCoin LTD, a cloud solution and platform for user-generated currencies, with four friends. Eyal has been involved in the internet space since the early days, starting with Contact Networks, a social network integrated with address book solutions in 1998. He later founded Metacafe, a video sharing service that reached 50 million unique visitors per month. Most recently, Eyal has co-founded Roundtable (RTB.io) with digital media pioneer James Heckman. Roundtable is a decentralized digital media platform designed for passionate journalists, activists, and thought leaders. As a Web3 visionary and DeFi inventor, Eyal has brought his expertise to this project, creating the first full-featured, major-media, enterprise-level Web3 platform. After four years of development, the platform is live on the web and available on iOS and Android App Stores, hosting top industry brands. It was unveiled at Consensus '24 in Austin.
